Our workrooms provide professional hand embroidery with an understanding of the period.  Using techniques and appropriate materials, beautiful heirloom quality linens are exclusively created for your textile  needs and desires.

Our knowledge in the techniques of embroidery is offered in the restoration or repair of a damaged cloth or  to embellish an existing period piece.  Send us your less than perfect linens and we will help you create or restore your good linen to an excellent condition.

RESTORATION & REPAIRS:  

The specialists at the Terra Firma workrooms have the knowledge and experience to repair and restore most linen.  Repairs include patching, darning, and stain removing.  Restoration includes matching embroidery with antique colored floss, hand embroidering and creating a matching motif over holes, reworking tattered needlework or needle lace, replacing or adding lace trims, repairing old embroidery, and hemstitching.  We can confidently restore most good linen to excellent & useful condition once again.

LAUNDERING & IRONING:

All fine linen is hand-washed employing old fashioned laundry methods for stain removal,and yellowing which includes hand ironing & pressing services.  We can also provide acid free boxing & wrapping for proper storage of old & antique linen & lace collections.

BY APPOINTMENT OR MAIL:

Services are available by appointment.  An examination of the linen is necessary before a quote can be given.  All prices will be quoted during the time of the appointment.  Appointments can be done not only by a visit to our workrooms, but through a phone consultation.

Mail service is available by mailing your linen to the workrooms.  Your linen will b examined and you will receive a telephone consultation.  If the method and price are agreeable, a written quotation will be faxed, emailed, or mailed to you after the consultation.   If you choose not to proceed, your package will be returned promptly by an insured mail carrier service.  linen services will be billed to you by credit card.
